Today ISRO launches GSAT-6A satellite. The Countdown Begin at Satish Dhawan Space center in Shriharikota at 1.56 pm on Wednesday. Today at 4.56 pm ISRO launch GSAT-6A. After 17 minutes rocket is lift off and GSAT-6A Satellite will be put in the orbit. Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle GSLV-F08 Carrying GSAT-6A Satellite.
This satellite is work in geostationary orbit. Weight of this satellite is 2140 kg. And Weight of the rocket is 415.6 tonnes. The life span of this satellite is 10 years. The mission of this satellite is to provide mobile communication to India through handheld ground terminals through multibeam coverage facility.
According to ISRO these two improvements have been made first is an induction of high thrust Vikas Engine and second is Electromechanical Actuation System. This satellite has two antenna one is unfurlable with 6m diameter use for S-band communication link and the second antenna is 0.8m for C band frequency hub for the communication link.
90% of the transponders were to be leased to Devas multimedia by the antrix corporation. Antrix had signed the $300 million contract with devas.
