Rajasthan is set to elect a new state Assembly. The voting for 199 seats in the assembly election is underway. Rajasthan Assembly Election 2018 is a litmus test for Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

Vasundhara Raje formed the Rajasthan government in the 2013 assembly elections. She beating the Congress and other political parties. BJP had won a record 163 seats and the Congress could get just 21.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had done a lot of work for the people of Rajasthan. She has launched many schemes for the welfare of the people in Rajasthan. Now she is looking to regain her throne back and to hold the power again.

Rajasthan has not voted the ruling party for a second term in the last 20 days. The Congress snatched the Ajmer and Alwar Lok Sabha seats and the Mandalgarh assembly seats from the Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP) In the last round of by-elections held in February.

Since 1993, the power of desert state Rajasthan swings between the Bhartiya Janata Party and the Congress. But the Congress, which won only 21 assembly seats in 2013 against the BJP’s 161, would need a lot of hard work and votes to win the election.

The pre-polls that were conducted have already announced that this time Congress would be running the owing to the last-ditch efforts by PM Modi – BJP’s star campaigner – the ruling party has recovered lost grounds.

As polling concludes in Rajasthan on 7 December that is today and the post-poll numbers start pouring in, will Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje gain the power of the state again for another five years or will the Congress defeat the Bhartiya Janata Party and rule the desert state Rajasthan?
