Navaratri 2018 : Importance and Significance Of Navaratri In India


Eastern and North-Eastern State of  India celebrating Navaratri as Durga Puja while For Northern and Western Belt, It is a nine-night festival that is observed to celebrate the victory of Rama over Ravana. Navaratri word consist of two synchrony one is Nava and second is Ratri meaning Nine Night festival. Festival of Navaratri spreads over 9 nights and 10 days.
Navaratri Lays the importance on the worship of goodness Durga which represents the energy of the universe in her nine different forms. Total Four Kinds of Navaratris are celebrated in India throughout the year Chaitra Navaratri, Paush Navaratri, Magha Navaratri, and Sharad Navaratri. Sharad Navaratri is considered as most auspicious.
According to the Hindu Calendar, this festival is celebrated in the month of Ashvin which typically falls in September and October as per the English calendar. This Year Navaratri will be observed from October 10 to October 18, 2018. Last Day of Navaratri is celebrated as Dussehra.

The importance of Navratri, like every other Indian festival, is the core message remains the same – the victory of good over evil, but the stories and the narratives different.
