Labour day is celebrated on May 1 in India. It is also known as an international worker’s day. This Day is celebrated to tribute and respect workers. Labour Day is first celebrated in the 19th century. In the 19th century all communists, socialists and trade unionists gathered to demand better working conditions, timings, and wages for the laborers. And they sought for eight hours for rest and only eight hours for work.
In India, labor day concept was introduced by the labor Kishan party of Hindustan on May 1, 1923. Labour Kishan party of Hindustan leader singaravelar first holding two meetings one at the triplicate beach and other on the opposite of Madras high court. They passed the rules to celebrate 1st May as a national holiday for workers.
