FIFA world Cup 2018


The FIFA World Cup 2018 will be the 21st FIFA world cup. It is Scheduled to take place in Russia From 14 June to 15 July 2018. Hosting Rights was awarded on 2nd December 2010. After 2006 it will be the first time to world cup held in Europe, in the last 2006 world was held in Germany.
And it is first ever to be held in Eastern Europe and the eleventh time it has been held in Europe. All the stadium venues are in European Russia to keep travel time manageable.
The final tournament has 32 national teams which including 31 teams determined through qualifying competition and the automatically qualified host team. From 32 teams 20 team will be making back to back appearance following the last 2014 tournament.
Total 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities. The final match takes place on 15th  July Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
The winners of FIFA World cup 2018 will qualify for the 2021 FIFA Confederation Cup. Favorite to win the final were Brazil, France, Germany, and Spain.
The bidding procedure to the host 2018 and 2022 FIFA world cups began in January 2009. initially, 9 countries placed bid for FIFA 2018 world cup But Mexico later withdrew and Indonesia’s bid was rejected by FIFA. During this bidding process, Three reaming nations gradually withdrew from the 2018 bids.
There were eventually four bids for the 2018 FIFA world cup two of which were joint bids England, Russia, Netherlands/Belgium, and Portugal/Spain. In this Russia won the right to be the 2018 host in the second round of voting.
The total of 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities have been built and renovated for the FIFA world cup.
