Ayushmann Bharat Scheme for Indian residential people

Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana to be Launched on 25th September – the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay
Indian government launched a new scheme on for Indian people. This scheme is under National Health Agency (NHA).
“Ayushmann Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana” scheme started on 4 September in Balrampur hospital of Uttar Pradesh.
In this Scheme, the government gives 5 Lakh full family (no matter how the family is big) health insurance in only approximately  1324 Rupes per year only.
Ayushman Bharat – National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM) will provide financial protection (Swasthya Suraksha) to 10.74 crores poor, deprived rural families and identified occupational categories of urban workers’ families as per the latest Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data (approx. 50 crore beneficiaries). It will have offer a benefit cover of Rs. 500,000 per family per year (on a family floater basis). 

Main Benefits of the Mission

  • This Scheme  cover of Rs. 5 Lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care
  • There is no restriction on family size, age or gender
  • All members of eligible families as present in SECC database are automatically covered
  • No money needs to be paid by the family for treatment in case of hospitalization
  • All pre-existing conditions are covered from day one of the policy. The benefits cover will include pre & post hospitalization
  • You can go to public or empanelled private hospitals across the country and get free treatment
  • You need to carry any prescribed ID to receive treatment at the hospital
